Verimatrix is on a roll. For the second year running, they’ve been named a top vendor in mobile app security by Quadrant Knowledge Solutions in the firm’s latest SPARK Matrix report.

XTD gets industry recognition as a top mobile app security solution

Verimatrix’s Extended Threat Defense (XTD) solution garnered kudos for its comprehensive approach to app security. XTD goes beyond basic protection, offering real-time threat detection and response capabilities that alert security teams to potential issues.

A key feature of Verimatrix’s offering is its “zero-code app telemetry.” This allows mobile app developers to implement robust security measures without extensive code changes, potentially streamlining the protection process for their apps. Not needing to touch the SDK gives Verimatrix customers an edge when time to market is critical. It also means less-skilled cybersecurity staff are required to protect apps; Verimatrix does the hard work for its customers.

Notably, Verimatrix’s technology extends its reach to consumer devices not managed by corporate IT systems. This broader coverage is particularly valuable for companies with mobile apps looking to safeguard their brand from harm and protect their end-user customer data across a wide range of devices.

Ayush Patidar, an analyst at Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, highlighted Verimatrix’s ability to provide advanced threat detection for consumer devices. This capability, typically associated with corporate network security, sets Verimatrix apart in the mobile app protection space. “Verimatrix has received strong ratings across technology excellence and customer impact and has been positioned as a leader in the SPARK Matrix: In-App Protection, Q1 2024,” adds Ayush.

Tom Powledge, who heads Verimatrix’s cybersecurity business, emphasized the company’s focus on maintaining strong app security technology and providing visibility to prevent and detect threats before they cause significant harm. “Verimatrix is proud to protect the applications that drive the digital economy,” says Tom.

Leveraging AI and machine learning for threat intelligence

Verimatrix’s XTD platform employs various techniques, including code obfuscation, anti-tampering measures, and environmental checks, to protect both Android and iOS apps. Verimatrix has also expanded its coverage to include desktop and web applications

In an effort to stay ahead of emerging threats, the company is leveraging AI and machine learning for continuous threat intelligence and surveillance. As mobile apps continue to play a central role in both personal and professional lives, the importance of robust security measures grows.
